Oh Yeah Tool Kit
Here’s a brilliant approach when it comes to personal development and I’m a massive fan of this tool due its sheer simplicity. In short, you’re capturing where you want to shift ‘from’ and go ‘to’ in one simple sentence. I’ve seen this really work in previous roles, where it’s been focused on goal-setting.
For example: I want to go from being ‘someone who’s known for being organised’ to being ‘someone who also has creative ideas’. And then you set about how to achieve that goal, which could be formal learning, mentorship, experience on the job etc.
I’ve created a template with these prompts, centred on the Oh Yeah approach, so that we’re focusing on the intuitive feelings, rather than overthinking. Feel free to write as many as you want:
To :
What can I do to help me support this shift?
To:
What can I do to help me support this shift?
To:
What can I do to help me support this shift?
Similar to the ‘Stop. Start. Continue’ exercise in Season 1, this should be done over time, with further thoughts added as and when you have a lucid moment. They can often come in the most mundane of situations, I find, not just in the clear blue skies. Whatever way suits you, this will help put the feeling into the ‘even over’ approach in your guiding principles.
