2025 Oh Yeah

Site Design and Built by Studio 77

By this point of my Season 4, plans for my new ‘destiny’ had shifted from what I was concocting four months before. Back then, I was inspired by a UX app design course I took. My brain and ways of working were in full work mode, used to scaling up things to a global scale, and during that time, I wanted to take on the world by creating an app which housed similar intentions to Oh Yeah. But the more I iterated the plan, the more I wanted to create a sanctuary, with a more relaxed and colourful environment to enjoy the seasonal guide at one’s own pace.

The other example was coaching. Or rather, thinking that I had to coach to earn money - a route which many take in order to share well-earned skills, knowledge and experience to others. But as I started to plot out coaching slots and what a typical working week could look like, I realised I was replicating old norms. I’d been institutionalised in thinking that sitting in back-to-back meetings, even on my own terms, was progress. But ugh! Dolly’s words resounded loudly : this route was not going to fulfil me.  I had to remind myself of my own guiding principles in Season 1:

Led by feeling, even over volume of content or need for constant productivity.

Good company and vibes, even over status.

I quickly scrapped that idea and shifted it to only doing collaboration, partnerships IRL with good people. And knowing that I’ve always thrived on good energy from others and their own creative energy gave me confidence to ditch the coaching idea, pronto.

All of this is to say - find your own version of freedom and adventure by connecting back to who you are and what fills your cup. Go back to your guiding principles from Seasons 1 and 2. Remind yourself what makes you move. It’s the fourth season that really allows you the space and joy to explore and switch your plans without judgement. This flow state is just so empowering. And guess what? No one is testing you. You are allowed to switch it up however many times you want until you feel that inner wisdom showing you the right direction. Take some inspiration from Ernst Bloc’s principle of hope: Hope is superior to fear. The emotion of hope goes beyond itself, makes people broad instead of narrow. That is the joy of venturing beyond: it brings clarity in your decision-making. Your own life-career path.

QUICK TIP: Pick wisely who you share your emergent plans with

A quick reminder of Season 3 and your ‘circle of trust’.

Whilst you’re in playful rising mode, you’ll inevitably want to share your plans with friends, out of sheer excitement and joy. It’s like you’ve broken through to the light and you want to share the news with loved ones.

Recognise how you respond when getting opinions back from those who don’t understand the plans you’re making. You may be okay with it, but I found it fairly jarring (no dramas involved, it was just annoying). My quick tip is to just share that you’re excitedly building your plans and really enjoying being in the flow state of it all. That can be said easily over dinner with friends, with no fuss, and the real ones will be supportive of you as you chow down on your mains. This way, your changing plans are protected, only shared when you’re good and ready. It’s so much cleaner that way.
